Getting crafty at home

Spending time creating with your child is a wonderful way to build memories while supporting their growth. Arts and crafts encourage creativity, confidence, problem solving, and fine motor skills all through hands on fun.

Try simple activities like painting, coloring, nature crafts, homemade playdough, or creating with recycled materials. Instead of focusing on the final product, encourage creativity by asking open ended questions like:

• "Tell me about your artwork."

• "What inspired you to make this?"

• "How did you choose those colors?"

• "What would you like to add next?"

• "How does your creation make you feel?"

There are no right or wrong answers, just opportunities to imagine, create, and connect.
